‘Serendipity’ is inspired by the architectural forms, plant life, and linear patterns found throughout Kingsborough Village.

The artist, Karri McPherson, was inspired by the geometry of the surrounding buildings, as well as the rustic and urban elements seen throughout the condominium. Karri wanted to celebrate the concepts of community and creativity in the artwork. She designed the mural to subtly connect the urban and natural environment to create a visual space that serves as a metaphor for the interconnected ways we relate to places and to one another.

‘Serendipity’ is a dynamic artwork that emphasises rhythm and movement as the visual interaction between the shapes reflects an active and engaging interaction between people and their wider communities.

The works were commissioned by the Powerhouse Executive Committee who held an expressions of interest for early career and emerging artists for their public entry space in early 2023.
